South Korea will open its 27th cultural center overseas this week in Brussels, Belgium.

The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism says 300 South Korean and Belgian officials will attend a ceremony Tuesday, local time, to mark the opening of the center.

The one-story building downtown Brussels features a multi-purpose hall, exhibition room, library and a kitchen. It also includes a Korean language school known as a "Sejong Hakdang."

The new center, the first in Brussels, will hold an exhibition on Korean ceramics to celebrate its opening.

South Korea and Belgium signed a treaty of amity and commerce in 1901 and have maintained close ties for over 110 years.
