Jeju to Host Int'l Judo Competition This Week

The Korea Judo Association and the Korea Racing Authority will jointly host an international judo competition in the southern resort island of Jeju this week.

The 2013 KRA Korea Grand Prix has been held under the name of the 'Korea World Cup' for 14 years.

With the new title, the international event has also been upgraded to give winners of each weight class 300 world ranking points, up from the previous 100.

A total of 100-thousand U.S. dollars in prize money will also be given to winners.

Countries are allowed to send only two judokas in each weight division to the competition.

Some 280 judokas from 32 countries, including 56 Korean players, will participate in this year’s competition, which will be held on December fifth and the sixth.
