Korean Team Makes Top-ten Finish at Luge World Cup

South Korea has finished in the top ten at the Luge World Cup for the first time since it began competing in international sleigh races.

Led by coach Lee Chang-yong, the Korean team came in eighth with a time of two minutes and 30-point-446 seconds in the team relay event at the Viessmann Luge World Cup Sunday in Winterberg, Germany.

Korea beat Germany by zero-point-023 seconds.

Italy won in a track record of two minutes and 25-point-874 seconds. The U.S. and Austria came in second and third.

The Korean bobsleigh team won three gold medals this year at the American Cup, a continental competition. But this is the first time the Korean team has finished in the top ten at the World Cup in bobsleigh, luge or skeleton.
