Speed Skater Mo Wins 2nd Gold at World Cup Series

South Korean speed skater Mo Tae-bum captured his second gold medal on Sunday at the International Skating Union (ISU) World Cup series in Berlin.

Mo edged Japan’s Joji Kato by two thousandths of a second to win the 500-meter race with a time of 34-point-876 seconds. Following a victory in the 1,000 on Saturday, Mo's successful series has brightened his prospects for the Winter Olympics in Sochi, Russia.

South Korea medaled in long track competition as well. Lee Seung-hoon took the bronze in the men's 5,000 meters with a time of six minutes and 16-point-12 seconds.

In the women's team pursuit, South Korea won bronze, finishing after the Netherlands and Poland with a time of three minutes and two-point-04 seconds.
