The Korean Film Council says a record number of people went to Korean cinemas this year.

The council said the count exceeded 195 million on Sunday, breaking the previous record of over 194 million last year.
 
The council predicted that by the end of this year, the number of moviegoers will reach 200 million and its sales will top one-point-five trillion won.
 
It also said an all-time high of more than 116-point-eight million people watched Korean films in theater this year. The number is expected to surpass 130 million before the year is out.
