Speed skater Kim Bo-reum won South Korea's first gold medal at the 26th Winter Universiade in Trentino, Italy.

Kim finished first in the women's one-thousand-500 meter with a record of two minutes and one-point-19 seconds.

Lee Jin-Yeong also won the bronze medal in the men's five-thousand meter with a record of six minutes 37-point-26 seconds.

A total of 74 South Korean athletes are competing in the games that run from December 11 to December 21.
