Night fell over a village full of tiny houses on the outskirts of Seoul.
The streets were so narrow and dark… After sunset, all kinds of accidents occurred on these streets.
At the corner of the street, there stood a street light in front of a shabby house, always brightly lit.
A blind couple lived in that house.
With a light in their hearts, the couple always watched out for each other.
The presence of a street light didn’t really matter to the blind couple, but they were first ones to turn the light on every night.
“ Did you turn the light on? “
“ Of course…How can I forget that… “
The reason the couple turned on the light was that they worried their neighbors might fall and get hurt in the dark streets.
Very early in the morning, snow had fallen on the little village.
A man who lived at the top of the hill filled his handcart with briquettes and headed toward the blind couple’s house.
He then sprinkled charcoal ashes from their front door to the main street.
He was worried that the blind couple might slip on the snowy road.
Early in the morning… he couple knew who was outside their door and why the street wasn't slippery.
The winter was quite warm for both the blind couple as well as the man with the handcart.
