South Korea seized three gold medals in archery as well as in shooting, while adding two gold medals each in fencing and judo. South Korea also won a gold medal in gymnastics, taekwondo and wrestling.
South Korea won a bronze medal in men’s soccer for the first time ever while swimming sensation Park Tae-hwan grabbed two silver medals.
Son Yeon-jae earned her country recognition in rhythmic gymnastics with a fifth-place finish.
However, defeats in men’s and women’s weightlifting, badminton, women’s fencing, women’s handball and women’s volleyball were regretful for the Korean people.
