Singers Overworked during Holidays
K-pop singers are probably the most overworked entertainers during the Christmas and New Year’s holiday season. They have to appear in various year-end award shows, special programs, and even host their own holiday concerts. Music stars’ over-booked schedules took their toll over the weekend when ballad diva Baek Ji-young and After School member Raina were taken to the hospital from exhaustion.

Baek fainted after singing just five songs at her year-end solo concert on Sunday. She complained of a high fever and dizziness before the show, but went ahead with her performance. However, her conditions grew worse until she left the stage only to faint in the backstage. Her concert was cancelled and the audience was promised new tickets to her future concert. She was advised to stay in the hospital until Monday night and has been placed under observation.

Raina, the new member of After School, was also rushed to hospital Sunday afternoon when she collapsed during rehearsal. She regained consciousness after being treated in the emergency room. After School is to appear in three major TV award shows from December 29 through 31st, as well as other year-end specials.
