C.J. Koster and Ryan Rutherford, NEH Magazine

2011-01-21

As Korea becomes a more multicultural society, its media market is expanding to reach different audiences in different languages.
My guests this week are two of the people behind the English-language alternative publication, NEH magazine. Founder C.J. Koster serves as the editor-in-chief and creative director, while Ryan Rutherford is NEH’s editor-at-large. To date, their team has published eight issues, with number nine scheduled to hit newsstands on February 12th under the theme, “The Future Issue.”

During our conversation, I talk with C.J. and Ryan about the English language periodicals market in Korea, how they determine content and the joy and anguish of creating a printed product in the digital age.
