Florida to Recognize S.Korean Driver’s License

The state of Florida has become the first southeastern U.S. state to recognize the validity of a South Korean driver’s license.

The Korean Consulate General in Atlanta said that it would sign on October 21st with the state government of Florida an agreement on mutual acknowledgement of the drivers’ licenses.

Vice Consul General Kim Heung-su said that currently Florida only considers the driver’s licenses of some developed nations valid such as Germany, France, and Japan.

Currently, five states in the U.S. --- Maryland, Virginia, Washington, Massachusetts, and Texas --- recognize South Korean drivers’ licenses.
