Apple’s cofounder and former CEO Steve Jobs has died from cancer at 56.

Apple announced the death of its cofounder on Wednesday.

Jobs stepped down from his post as the company’s chief in August for health reasons and was concentrating on getting treatment. He underwent an operation for pancreatic cancer in 2004 and had a liver transplant in 2009.

In January this year, Jobs took sick leave three times. At the time he stepped down in August, he did not mention details about his health.
