Members of the South Korean IT industry have expressed their condolences after hearing of Apple’s cofounder and former CEO Steve Job’s death.
Samsung Electronics, which has been in intense competition with and is even engaged in a legal battle with Apple in the global Smartphone and Tablet PC markets, has expressed its sincere condolences as well.
Samsung Electronics Vice Chairman and CEO Choi Gee-sung said the late Jobs was a genius entrepreneur who presented a vision to the global IT industry. He said his creative spirit and magnificent achievements will never be forgotten.
LG Electronics expressed condolences for the demise of what it called a genius who brought innovation to the IT industry.
Mobile telecom carriers KT, SK Telecom, and LG U+ also expressed their condolences. They said that the iPhone has enormously changed the mobile telecommunications market and that Jobs had not just innovated but pioneered activities to facilitate the development of the IT world, adding that the late Apple chief played a significant role in the South Korean telecom industry.
