US Senate to Vote on KORUS FTA Next Week

The U.S. Senate plans to act on foreign trade agreements with South Korea, Colombia and Panama during its main session next week.

Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid said on Thursday that the Senate will likely vote on the three trade pacts next Wednesday, local time.

Ahead of the Senate’s main session, the House of Representatives is expected to pass the South Korea-U.S. free trade agreement during a full session.

As a result, Congress is likely to conclude all efforts to ratify the South Korea-U.S. trade pact before President Lee Myung-bak holds summit talks with U.S. President Barack Obama in Washington next Thursday.
