S.Korea, Russia to Resume Negotiations on Gas Pipeline

Russia’s state-run energy company Gazprom says negotiations will resume in late October to early November for a project to build a pipeline transporting Russian natural gas through North Korea and into South Korea.

Gazprom said in a news release that its Deputy Chairman of the Management Committee Alexander Medvedev and Korea Gas Corporation CEO Choo Kangsoo made the agreement at the International Gas Union Executive Committee Meeting in Croatia.

Russia and the two Koreas are currently engaged in negotiations to build a gas pipeline roughly one-thousand kilometers long from the Russian Far East to supply more than ten-billion cubic meters of natural gas to South Korea.
