The Unification Ministry says Unification Minister Yu Woo-ik held a meeting on Friday with Vice Chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress Chen Zhili, who is visiting South Korea.

The ministry said the two discussed a wide variety of common issues and bilateral relations.

They also reportedly exchanged opinions on North Korea issues.

Chen the highest-ranked female Chinese official and has maintained positive relations with Yu since he was ambassador to China.
