White House: Lee, Obama to Discuss KORUS Benefits

The White House says President Lee Myung-bak and U.S. President Barack Obama will talk about the economic benefits of the South Korea-U.S. free trade agreement during Lee’s upcoming state visit.

The U.S. presidential office said Monday that the two leaders will make brief remarks on the trade deal when they visit an automotive plant in the city of Detroit, Michigan on Friday, local time.

The White House described the trade pact as an accord that would expand economic opportunities and create jobs for both countries.

Detroit is home to the U.S.’s “Big Three” automakers –General Motors, Ford, and Chrysler.
