Star K-pop singers performed at the annual New York Korea Festival this past weekend for thousands of fans.

KBS hosted the concert to mark the 20th anniversary of South Korea’s joining of the U.N. However, the event was held in New Jersey's Overpeck County Park in Ridgefield instead of on New York's Randall's Island due to issues obtaining permits.

People waited in a line overnight to get one of 20-thousand available tickets that quickly sold out.

U.N. Secretary-General Ban Ki-monn said in a welcome message at the event that K-pop is helping boost the status of South Korea on the international stage.

South Korean singers participating in the concert included Insooni, Jang Sa-ik, 2PM, TVXQ and 4Minute.
