U.S. agricultural and livestock industries have welcomed U.S. congressional approval of the Korea-U.S. free trade agreement as they expect a surge in the export of their products to South Korea.

U.S. Secretary of Agriculture Tom Vilsack said that the U.S. agricultural industry will be one of the greatest beneficiaries from the trade pact.

American livestock industry organizations also hailed the approval of the Korea-U.S. FTA in the anticipation the trade deal will help the U.S. create jobs.
