North Korean authorities are apparently working to end confusion and stabilize society as soon as possible following the death of leader Kim Jong-il.

Trade between China’s Dandong and North Korea’s Sinuiju that was halted after the news of Kim's death resumed on Thursday. North Korean authorities reportedly instructed North Korean traders in China to resume their business.

A Chinese businessman said he received the impression that the North's government is trying to stabilize its society. He added there was complete panic after Kim Il-sung’s death in 1994, but the mood is different now.
