In Sydney, Australia, roughly 1.5 million people gathered to witness a spectacular display of fireworks titled “Time to Dream.”
In Beijing, China, a display of lights was held to greet the new year with crowds making wishes for 2012.

In Tokyo, Japan, citizens were seen tying new year’s wishes to balloons. In Hong Kong, more fireworks were seen above its skyline.
