Russia to Conduct 11 ICBM Tests This Year

Russia says it is planning to test-fire eleven intercontinental ballistic missiles this year.
A spokesman for Russia’s Strategic Rocket Forces said that of the eleven tests, four are to extend the use of missiles and seven others are to test new missiles or enhance the performance of existing ones.
Russia said it put the RS-24 intercontinental ballistic missile on combat duty to increase the Special Rocket Forces’ capability for piercing missile defense. Russia added that the introduction of the missile has also strengthened its nuclear deterrence capabilities.
