An investigation continues into a high school shooting in the U.S. state of Ohio that has left one student dead and four injured.

CNN says four male students and one female student were shot on Monday after a young man opened fire in a cafeteria at Chardon High School just as class was getting under way.

The gunman was chased out of the school by a teacher and arrested soon after in Chardon township.

The suspect was carrying a rifle and a knife when he was arrested.
