US to Announce Results of Talks with NK Wednesday Night

The U.S. will reportedly announce the results of its latest high-level talks with North Korea at 11 p.m. Wednesday, Korea time.

Diplomatic sources in Washington predict the U.S. State Department will disclose progress the two sides made during the talks in Beijing last week over North Korea’s preliminary denuclearization steps and the provision of U.S. food aid to the communist state.

North Korea is known to have demanded 300-thousand tons of food aid during the talks, saying it could halt the operation of its nuclear facility in Yongbyon until it’s proven that the nuclear facility was built for peaceful purposes.

The U.S. and North Korea plan to coordinate the details of their recent progress through their New York channel.
