Chinese Foreign Minister Yang Jiechi has noted progress in the recent talks between relevant parties to the six-party nuclear talks.
Yang on Tuesday presented the view during a news conference on the sidelines of the National People’s Congress in Beijing.
The Chinese minister positively assessed active interaction amongst the related parties, such as the recent agreement between North Korea and the United States.
Yang said that the six-party nuclear talks are an important framework for resolving issues related to the North’s denuclearization.
He also expressed hope that the parties to the six-party nuclear talks will use wisdom to play a constructive role in resuming the stalled talks and realizing the denuclearization of the Korean Peninsula.
Yang hoped that countries will work together to produce substantial security measures at the upcoming Nuclear Security Summit, which is set to open on March 26th in Seoul.
