South Korea, Russia Continue Talks on Gas Pipeline Through N.Korea

Russian state-run gas company Gazprom said it had conducted additional talks with South Korea on constructing a pipeline from Russia to South Korea. The pipeline would run through North Korea.

Gazprom said the talks had been held in Moscow, Russia from April third for two days with Korea Gas Corporation (KOGAS).

South Korea and Russia have been in discussions since 2009, when the two countries agreed to explore the project. The project will build a pipeline from eastern Russia, through North Korea, and into the South to feed Russia’s natural gas into Asia’s fourth-largest economy.
