68 S. Korean Firms on Forbes Global 2000 List

Sixty-eight South Korean companies have been included in U.S. business magazine Forbes annual ranking of the world's two-thousand largest companies.

Forbes unveiled its Global 2000 list this year on Wednesday after assessing companies’ sales, profits, assets and market value.

Samsung Electronics of South Korea ranked 26th and Hyundai Motor Company placed 96th.

The U.S. dominated the list with 524 firms followed by Japan with 258 and China with 136.

Exxon Mobil of the United States took the number one spot as the biggest Global 2000 company, up one spot from last year. Second place went to U.S. investment bank, JP Morgan Chase.
