U.S., Russia to Hold Joint Anti-Terror Exercise

The Russian Defense Ministry says U.S. and Russian airborne troops will hold a joint anti-terror exercise in the U.S. state of Colorado from the 24th through the 31st of May.

Defense Ministry spokesman Colonel Alexandro Kucherenko said on Friday that this will be the first time the two countries’ airborne forces take part in anti-terror drills on U.S. territory.

The two sides’ troops will engage in joint training exercises involving reconnaissance and surprise attacks against terrorist camps, among other airborne operations.

Kucherenko said Russian forces will contribute to a special task group that will exercise with U.S. special weapons during the drill at Fort Carson, Colorado.
