Italian Police Seize Mafia Assets Worth 1 Tln Won

A German news agency says Italian authorities seized assets worth some 800 million euros, or one-point-one trillion won, belonging to a mafia organization based in Naples.

According to the DPA news agency Tuesday, the seized assets were registered under the name of the head of a construction company in Naples, but local police soon found that the assets, in fact, belong to a member of a faction of the infamous mafia organization, Camorra.

Naples police also arrested 18 members of Camorra for attempted murder, arson and extortion. Some of those arrested men are also suspected of setting on fire homes of gypsies near the Port of Naples in 2010.
