Chinese livestock farmers have been a dealt a major blow by lighting strikes over the past week.

A Chinese newspaper reported that some 170 sheep were struck and killed by a lighting bolt at a farm in the Xinjiang Uyghur region on Tuesday.

Last week, 50 pigs were also hit and killed by lightning at a farm in Guangdong Province.
