U.S. President Barack Obama will tour major U.S. cities to explain his economic policies and programs he presented earlier this year.

Obama will travel on Thursday to Austin, Texas, the first stop of his new jobs tour.

During the series of day trips, Obama is expected to stress his goal of reviving the economy while championing a raise in the minimum wage, early childhood education, and greater investment in social overhead capital. The tours are designed to pressure Congress to act.

The U.S. president has been saying that his top priority is to create jobs and spur economic recovery.
