S. Korea Advances into U-20 World Cup Quarterfinals

South Korea has advanced into the quarterfinals of the FIFA U-20 World Cup after beating Colombia on penalties.  
 
South Korea stuck first with a goal in the 16th minute of the first half at the match in Trabzon, Turkey on Wednesday. Colombia brought the game to a draw at 1-1 in the second before falling 8-7 in a penalty shootout after extra time.  
 
This is South Korea’s first time to advance to the quarterfinals of the U-20 World Cup since 2009.
 
South Korea will compete against Iraq, which beat Paraguay 1-0, to reach the next round.
 
Meanwhile, Ghana beat Portugal 3-2 and Chile defeated Croatia 2-0 to advance into the quarterfinals.
