A press conference announcing the Korean, American and Singaporean joint film “Dance of the Dragon” brought out its stars on the 30th, including Korean actor Jang Hyuk.
At the film’s production announcement, held at the Asian Civilization Museum in Singapore, the handsome actor announced that he will play champion Korean ballroom dancer Kwon Tae-San. He said that though he is troubled because his role calls for him to speak in English and perform martial arts, he says he has taken Kwon Tae-San’s dream and brought it with him to Singapore. He added that he would put his all into the role and felt the movie would be a time of personal growth.
When asked about the movie’s location, Jang Hyuk said, “Singapore is very clean and the people are very kind. There are a lot of different cultures so I feel like I am more open-minded now.”
Singaporean actress Fann Wong, who starred in “Shanghai Nights,” will play Jang Hyuk’s love interest, and Hollywood actor Jason Scott Lee will play his rival.
“Dance of the Dragon” will begin filming on the 31st and continue for the next 7 weeks. It is set to hit theaters in the first half of 2008.
