“Ryu Shi-Won Village” Opens In Japan
A district in Japan has been dedicated to Hallyu star Ryu Shi-Won.

An area in Mimasaka, Takeo City in the Saga Prefecture of Kyushu has been renamed after the Korean entertainer.

Ryu’s latest album “With You” was released in May and the track “Cheonche Mangwongyeong/ Telescope” became the talk of the town. In the romantic song about two lovers looking up at the stars, the lyrics “What did you write on that small piece of paper on August 7th? I can’t see the clear star-lit sky in Tokyo like I could in Mimasaka” have made fans of Ryu interested in the area and made the district famous.

Ryu’s agency reported on the 8th that a ceremony was held at Yamauchi Central Park where the mayor of Takeo dedicated the area to Ryu. The mayor thanked Ryu for bringing attention to the area. In a video message, Ryu expressed his gratitude and honor and promised to visit Mimasaka soon to enjoy the star-lit sky together with its residents.
