Korean teen phenomenon BoA's 14th single, "Merry-Chri" will be released simultaneously Wednesday in Korea and Japan. BoA tried to express her thoughts and messages on Christmas through three songs in the album, which stands as an abbreviation for "Merry Christmas." The general ambiance of the album is wintry. This is the 14th compilation for the teen sensation hailed as Korea's cultural ambassador, who stands at the forefront of the "Korean Wave" in Japan, and the third to be released in Korea after "Double" and "Rock with you." The title song of the album, "Merry-Chri," is characterized by a sweet, mellifluous melody. It was composed by Japanese composer Kazuhiro Hara, who also wrote one of BoA's biggest hits, "Valenti." The Korean lyrics were written by BoA herself, and the two versions of the music video - one in Korean, and the other in Japanese - portrays beautiful winter sceneries. “Mega Step" was composed under the theme of footsteps on snow, and is played at a medium tempo.
