Daryl Orchard, Head of School, Dulwich College Seoul

2010-04-30

Korean culture is known for highly valuing education, and many parents spend vast sums to supplement their child’s education with additional classes, or to enroll them in private, or independent schools. On the other hand, many expatriate residents in Seoul send their children to schools that conduct classes in English, or other foreign languages. Combined, these factors point to the growing call for more educational options for Seoul families.

My guest on this week's show is Daryl Orchard, the first Head of School for the new Dulwich College Seoul. For the past 20 years he has worked in international schools in Asia before bringing Dulwich's 400-year history to Seoul this October. During our interview, I’ll talk with Daryl Orchard about the school, its British curriculum, and what he looks for in a prospective Dulwich student.
