Jean Rim and Katherine Oh are an international art duo that first met in 1995 while they were both studying art at Parsons, the New School for Design in New York. Today, they create under the name, Coop. Residents of Seoul, both Oh and Rim are inspired by aspects of Korean culture they find both familiar and peculiar, be it the so-called "fan death" or the lengths by which some go to protect themselves from the sun. In August, Coop will hold an exhibition at Space Hamilton in Hannam-dong, Yongsan District, which is why we've invited Katherine Oh and Jean Rim to talk about making art and why they became an international art duo.
