My guest this week is Rob Ouwehand. A resident of Korea since 2003, he’s probably best known as the popular blogger, “Roboseyo” (
http://roboseyo.blogspot.com). But this past April, he also became the National Communications Officer of the Association for Teachers of English in Korea, or ATEK. ATEK is an all-volunteer national support and information-sharing network for professional English teachers. Their stated mission is to improve the lives of teachers through online and human resources via partnerships with the public and private sectors. In our interview, Rob and I talk about South Korea’s English language industry, and how ATEK is addressing concerns about the quality of English language instruction as well as the rights of foreign English teachers.
