Seoul Urges Peaceful Solution to Palestine Crisis

Seoul's Foreign Ministry has called for a peaceful resolution to the current crisis in Palestine.

In the wake of Israel’s deadly crackdown on Palestinian protesters earlier this week, the South Korean government issued a statement on Thursday, hoping for a swift settlement of the situation.

The government urged the relevant parties to join the global campaign to bring peace to Israel and Palestine.

While throwing its support behind the “two-state solution,” the Foreign Ministry also expressed concerns over the killing of civilians by Israeli forces.

The ministry added that it is also reinforcing protection for Korean residents and tourists in the area.

More than 60 people died and over three-thousand others were injured during a two-day protest in the Gaza Strip when Israeli troops opened fire at demonstrators against the opening of the U.S. embassy in Jerusalem.
