South Korea’s postal operator said Monday it has restored a majority of its services that were suspended following last week’s fire at a major government data center.

Korea Post announced that, following the principle of prioritizing systems and services that affect public safety, property and economic activities, a significant portion of postal services will resume soon.

Postal services closely related to daily life, such as the delivery of letters, parcels and international mail, are expected to resume starting at 9 a.m. today, ahead of the Chuseok holiday.

However, some services, such as express mail, Korea Post shopping, fresh food parcels and secure parcels will remain unavailable for the time being, and delivery delays in some regions are expected until systems are fully restored.

Korea Post emphasized that it will strive to provide essential services and ensure that no disruptions occur ahead of this year’s weeklong Chuseok holiday.
