Rice: S. Korea, US Agree on Nuke Talks

U.S. Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice says members of the six-way nuclear talks, excluding North Korea, agree on how to pressure the North to make commitments on inspections of its nuclear program.

In an interview with the Associated Press, she said the U.S. and South Korea were "absolutely" on the same page.

On Monday, South Korea said it hasn't decided whether to deliver a promised shipment of fuel to North Korea after Pyongyang failed to cooperate at nuclear disarmament talks last week.

The AP notes that this stance contradicts Washington's statement saying that North Korea's five negotiating partners - China, Japan, South Korea, Russia and the U.S. - agreed to halt energy aid unless the regime agreed to steps for verifying its past nuclear activities.
