The Japanese government has not mentioned a territorial dispute over South Korea's Dokdo islets in teaching guidelines for revised textbooks.

Japan’s Education Ministry revealed the draft of the guidelines Monday.

Old guidelines asked teachers to approach border and territorial disputes from a global as well as regional perspectives.

There is still a chance that the Japanese government will deal with the Dokdo issue in another set of teaching guidelines, which will be announced in the first half of next year.
