Unification Minister Kim Ha-joong, who arrived in China Sunday, held a series of talks with top Beijing officials on Tuesday.

Ministry spokesman Kim Ho-nyoun told a regular news briefing that the minister held talks with Wang Jiarui, head of the Communist Party of China's international department, for nearly three hours.

He met with former State Councilor Tang Jiaxuan in the morning and other ranking officials in the afternoon.

During the talks, Kim explained Seoul's policies on North Korea and discussed Korean peninsula affairs and inter-Korean relations.
