'7th Batch of US Food Aid to Reach NK mid-Jan.'

U.S. international broadcaster Voice of America says the seventh planned shipment of U.S. food aid will arrive in North Korea around mid-January.

Citing a nongovernmental group official, the VOA said 49-hundred tons of vegetable oil and a shipment of a corn and bean mixture will arrive at Nampo Port by January 19th.

Five U.S.-based NGOs, including Mercy Corps and World Vision, will distribute them in 25 counties in North Pyeongang and Jagang provinces.

The U.S. government has, since June, delivered 143-thousand tons of its pledged 500-thousand tons of food aid.
