While the 14th Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) Summit is set to be held late February in Thailand, a separate schedule is in the making for meetings with ASEAN dialogue partners.

According to an official at Thailand’s Foreign Ministry Wednesday, the leaders of the ASEAN member states have agreed to hold the association’s summit from February 27th to March first. However, a series of meetings between ASEAN leaders and the leaders of six additional countries --- including South Korea, China and Japan --- will be held later due to conflicting schedules.

The official said Prime Minister Abhisit Vejjajiva will announce later in the day a final schedule for the upcoming gatherings.

The summit was originally scheduled to be held in December. However, it was delayed after an anti-government group blocked the government complex building and the airport in Bangkok.
