US Not in Contact with NK over Rocket

The U.S. government says it is not in contact with North Korea over the communist country's imminent rocket launch.

Gordon Duguid, acting deputy spokesman for the U.S. State Department, told a news briefing that the U.S. is conveying its dissatisfaction with the launch plans through consultations with other members of the six-way nuclear talks.

The department said U.S. special envoy on North Korea Stephen Bosworth and chief U.S. delegate to the six-party talks Sung Kim are devising countermeasures to the North Korean rocket launch, which will soon be reported to Secretary of State Hillary Clinton.
