A Korean woman has been injured in a shooting in Binghamton, New York.

On Friday morning, a 42-year-old gunman, Jiverly Voong, allegedly opened fire on a group of immigrants taking a citizenship class. Following the shooting, Voong was found to have died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head.

The nation’s consular office in New York said a South Korean woman, identified by her surname Lee, was shot in five places and was sent to a local hospital for treatment.

Lee is the wife of a South Korean military officer enrolled in the State University of New York in Binghamton. She was taking an English class at the American Civic Association when the shooting occurred.

Fourteen people were killed in the attack and 37 were injured.
