Major foreign media outlets are reporting a rocket launched by North Korea as breaking news.

Japanese news outlets including NHK and the daily Sankei Shimbun Sunday ran breaking news reports on the launch as Tokyo said Pyongyang appears to have launched a rocket at 11:30 a.m.

AFP, Reuters and other major media outlets also swiftly covered the Japanese reports along with reports and announcements from other countries.

CNN ran a breaking news report right after the launch, also reporting on the responses and stances of concerned countries.
