Japan’s Prime Minister Taro Aso says his country will not tolerate North Korea’s rocket launch, which he called a “provocative act.”

Japan is seeking a new U.N. Security Council resolution condemning the North, while strengthening its own sanctions and economic pressure on Pyongyang.

The Japanese government will extend its sanctions against the North that are set to expire on April 13th.
