‘FM Meeting Displays Coordination among US, S.Korea, Japan’

The U.S. says that a scheduled meeting of the foreign ministers of the U.S., South Korea and Japan demonstrates the close coordination among the three allies.

State Department State department spokesman Philip Crowley made the remark in a regular news briefing Wednesday, adding that the meeting is also an indicator of the level of U.S. commitment to security on the Korean Peninsula and stability in the region.

He said that regarding the resumption of the six-party nuclear talks, it’s up to North Korea to show that it is willing to be a constructive player in the region.

The foreign ministers of South Korea, the U.S. and Japan will meet in Washington on December seventh to discuss the North Korean issue.
